Getting tired of your typical 5k? Let us throw a monkey wrench in your race!

Monkey Wrench Madness hopes to provide fun and challenging obstacle course races. Each race will be approximately 3 miles in distance and will provide obstacles of varying degree and difficulty. We will provide a true test of grit for the weekend warrior all the way up to the elite athlete. There will be a variety of manmade and natural terrain obstacles that will be part of the race. We are a family oriented business that promotes physical and mental well being of individuals. Our event is designed to challenge all individuals at any skill level and to offer a friendly atmosphere for family and friends of all ages.

What type of race is this?

MWM obstacle races will typically take place on rugged terrain including hills, water, mud, wooded trails and will always have man made obstacles. Each race will have around 25 obstacle challenges varying in difficulty. Race for time or just run to finish. Our races will challenge anyone!

How long are these races?

MWM races will be 5k or longer. Every course will be different and will vary in length. The length of time will depend on your skill level.

Who can race?

Our races will challenge anyone! We want to encourage participants of all ages and fitness levels. Race for time or just to finish, but most of all, HAVE FUN!  You must be 13 years or older to participate in the main race and a parent/guardian signature is required if under 18. There will be other fun activities for kids under 13 as well though.

How many obstacles can we expect?

Each race will have around 25 obstacle challenges varying in difficulty.

What should I wear?

Running clothing that can get wet and dirty! Don’t wear your Sunday clothes. Make sure you're prepared for the environment. Costumes are encouraged however please keep in mind this will be a family friendly environment.

Can I volunteer?

You can volunteer your time by emailing your name and phone number to [email protected] or by filling out the form on our Volunteer page.

How do I register for a race?

Click on 'Register' in the menu at the top of the page or the button in the column on the right. Next, choose the race you would like to register for. Once the races page loads, you will see a 'Register' button that will take you to our registration site and walk you through the steps of registering including choosing a start time, signing a waiver, and making payment.

Can I register without using the website?

Yes, 3 other ways. Print a registration form off the website and mail it, email us asking for a registration form at [email protected], or register the day of the event. Keep in mind that registering the day of the event will be the least cost effective way to participate and you will not be guaranteed an event t-shirt.

Will I need to sign a waiver or release?

Yes. When registering via the Active.com website, you can electronically agree to the waiver. No other action is necessary if you agreed electronically.

If you are registering manually or did not agree electronically, please take time to download, read, and sign our waiver and release form. Please bring a signed copy to the event. Copies will also be made available at the event.

How much does it cost to race?

The cost varies depending on when you register. The earlier a participant registers the more they save.

If multiple people register together is there a discount?

Yes. Your discount will be included during the checkout process.

How long does the event last?

The events will typically start at 0800 and the last heat will start at 1800 (or 6pm). This may vary depending on time of the year. Each participant will have an assigned heat. It’s recommended to be at the race 45 minutes before your heat time. There will be entertainment and food at our events, stay and enjoy as long as you would like.

When will I get my race information?

Upon arriving at the race (45 minutes early), you will need to check in and collect your T-shirt, race bib, and other information.

Our Goal

Monkey Wrench Madness' goal is to offer a fun filled event for our participants by giving them a challenging obstacle race that will test them mentally and physically. We would like to provide activities for people of all ages in addition to the race. These activities may include: music, food, drink, games, and a mini obstacle course for kids.
